  2. 2

    Click Zoom

Click Zoom, drag the box around the area, and drag its block to set when it holds.

  3. 3

    Export

Export a GIF, or MP4 or WebM for video.

Zoom so text stays readable

A 13 px label in a 1440 px recording, exported at 800 px, ends up about 7 px tall. Zoom in 2× and it’s back to about 14 px. Aim to keep text you want read above 12 px in the final GIF.

Zoom or crop?

If the action stays in one area the whole time, crop to it instead. Zoom when the action moves, or when people need the full screen for context first. Let the cursor settle before each zoom, and hold long enough to read twice.

FAQ

Questions, answered

How do I zoom in on a screen recording?
Open it in Lazygif, click Zoom and drag the box. Lazygif eases in, holds and eases out over the time you set.
Can Lazygif add zooms automatically?
When you record in Lazygif, Tidy up suggests zooms where the action was.
Does zooming make the video blurry?
It enlarges the source, so a low-resolution recording looks soft. Zoom only as far as you need.
