    Click Blur

Click Blur, drag the box over the private area and set when it shows on the timeline.

  3. 3

    Check, then export

Scrub the whole timeline to make sure nothing peeks out, then export.

Blur, pixelate or solid?

They look different, and they protect differently.

  • Blur: softest look, for faces, avatars and clutter.
  • Pixelate: clearly “hidden”, for names and bits of UI.
  • Solid: a flat block. Nothing of the original survives, so use it for passwords, keys and tokens.

Cover every frame

One unredacted frame is enough to leak something. Extend the blur a little past when the information appears and disappears, and add a second box if it scrolls. Rotate any credential that was ever on screen anyway.

FAQ

Questions, answered

How do I blur part of a GIF?
Open it in Lazygif, click Blur, drag the box over the area and export. Start at the beginning to cover the whole GIF.
Can blurred or pixelated text be recovered?
Sometimes, for short text under light blur. Use Solid for secrets: it keeps nothing of the original.
Can I blur a face in a GIF?
Yes. Draw a box over it and choose Blur or Pixelate; add more boxes if the person moves.
