How to · 3 steps

Step by step

  1. 1

    Open your GIF or video

Drop in one file or several; they line up on the timeline.

  2. 2

    Trim and cut

Drag a clip’s edges, or press S at both ends of a mistake and Delete it.

  3. 3

    Export

Export a GIF, or MP4 and WebM.

How long should a GIF be?

Most good GIFs loop in 5–12 seconds. If a flow needs 30, split it into a few GIFs or export MP4.

  • Cut the start before the first real movement, and the reach for the stop button.
  • Cut waits and spinners, or speed them up.
  • Cut wrong clicks, typos and backtracking.

Make the loop seamless

End on a calm final state that looks like the first frame, and hold it for a beat. If the ends can’t match, a boomerang has no jump.
